Planning began in 1999 for the 2001 family reunion.  Initial committee members were Jane Schroer, Dick Bredehoeft, and Margie Bauer (all from the Tribe of Harry).  Margie became quite ill in early 2000 and subsequently went to heaven on August 8, 2000.  About the same time, Dick's health deteriorated to the point he felt it necessary to reduce his involvement in reunion planning.  In mid-2000, their sister, Joyce Kuhl, offered to help Jane with planning.  Dick and Jane mailed quarterly letters to all known Bredehoeft descendants and their families with family history and reunion information, and this web site was born.  With family members scattered all over the United States and Canada, we believed this would be another effective way to communicate and disseminate information to our cousins.  The web site is now being maintained more as a "family history" site until planning of the next reunion begins.  Stay tuned -- and keep sending pictures and family history information to the webservant, Joyce Kuhl (JoyceK210@sbcglobal.net or Joyce Kuhl, 5414 17th St, Lubbock TX 79416-5508).

By clicking on the links below, you may review the letters Dick and Jane sent out concerning the Bredehoeft Family celebration, "Feier Familie Bredehoeft - 2001".  If you have difficulty opening them, please e-mail me and I'll attempt to convert them to a file that can be read by your software.

Greetings from Burnell Focks, July, 2001!

Hi!  I'm here, wishing I were there celebrating with all my amazing cousins.
Lotsa love,
Vernal (Focks)

On my way back to Texas, I stopped in Hobart OK to visit Mildred Lee, the oldest living descendant of Jacob and Margaretha.  I had the pleasure of delivering the get-well banner 49 people had signed and her certificate as Grand Matriarch of the family.  She was so excited about her new-found fame!  She loves getting mail and you may want to send her a card or letter at Good Samaritan Center #301, 709 N. Lowe, Hobart OK 73651.  Or, if you'd rather, you may e-mail your wishes to her daughter, Darlene Wale, (drwale@pldi.net) and she will print them and deliver them to Mildred.

Mildred Lee and Joyce Kuhl, Aug 17, 2001.

Mildred certainly enjoyed the family remembrances. She posed for me one more time in her room.
